Abstract (english text)

This meta paper describes spatial analysis conducted to support decision making in the project PDDI - Integrated Development Plan of the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, a project coordinated by UFMG involving various academic and administrative sectors of the region, and in which the Laboratory of GIS School of Architecture had the task of structuring the Geographic Information System for the entire set and act in the construction and application of spatial analysis models. It presents one of the models that were proposed, through multi-criteria analysis and map algebra, in other to identify tendencies and conflicts of interest resulting from the Matrix Conflicting Interests. The results indicate areas where conflicts take place and whose solution is political activity, as well as the optimal areas for the placement of activities that could generate questions such as landfills and recycling plants, among others. It clearly identifies the environmental vocations and vocations of interest for expansion of urban settlement. The different combinations of environmental and urban interest are mapped, such as the indication of sustainable urban occupation and the occupation of environmental interest that is weakened by the proximity to an urban interest. Areas with potential for change are mapped in order to indicate the regions where if structured interventions with applied catalysts elements are conducted, they can result in the effect of irradiation results and in the transformation of the region.
